ColorCatcher is an application developed and operated by Color Catchers, a sole trader registered in France (SIRET: not yet registered). This policy describes the data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data collected
ColorCatcher collects the following data:
Email address. Used solely for passwordless authentication via one-time code (OTP). It is not shared with third parties and is not used for commercial purposes.
Camera and photos. Camera access is used exclusively to capture images in real time and extract their dominant colors. This processing happens entirely on your device. Images are not sent to our servers unless you choose to publish a catch.
Published content (polaroids). When you publish a catch on colorcatcher.co, the image and its color palette are stored on our servers. This content is publicly visible.
2. Purpose of processing
The data collected is used to: provide the authentication service, enable publishing and sharing of catches, and ensure the application functions properly.
No data is used for advertising purposes. No data is sold or shared with third parties.
3. Legal basis (GDPR)
The processing of your data is based on the performance of the contract binding you to ColorCatcher when using the service.
4. Retention
Your email address is retained for as long as your account is active. Published content is retained until you delete it or close your account. OTP codes are deleted immediately after use.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
6. Hosting
Data is hosted in Europe, on the infrastructure of Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany).
